Deciding
DECIDING
Once you have been awarded the scholarship, it is now the time to celebrate it with your family, teachers and with someone else who has helped you to get there. Sometimes the choice is straightforward once you have an acceptance from your top- choice school. However, for others, it might be the time to think twice when you have more than one acceptance letter or once you are placed on the waitlist. In this case, think about the best fit and compare financial aid packages and scholarships before you final decision. This is also the time when the college asks you to deposit the first semester fees, for example. No matter how well qualified you are, some colleges will turn down your application, and there are many reasons a student may receive a denial letter. Understand that while the application process is all about you and showing the colleges who you are, the decision process is often more about the colleges and their priorities. It’s important to learn to deal with rejection.
