College Applications Platforms
Universities accept applications from different online platforms which give applicants the possibility of creating a centralized college application and use it to apply to several colleges hence saving time and money. Though the format and the overall look are different, all these platforms share the following: applicant profile, list of member colleges, checklist for application status, and applications requirements. Though there are different platforms, it is up to colleges to decide on which ones to work with. However, although small number colleges have their own specific applications, the most common ones are the following:
- Common Application – it is accepted by over 750 member colleges and most them are form the USA but other colleges from around the globe are joining.
- Coalition Application – More than 150 member colleges make the Coalition Application. It has a special feature – the Locker where you can save all your work, documents, photos, and more.
- UCAS (UK) – It is for international students who intend to study at the UK universities. Students are limited at 5 university programs and you are allowed to apply to only one Oxford and Cambridge’s colleges. However, international school from the UK has joined the Common Application to attract students from the USA, Canada, and Scotland.
- Common Black College Application with more than 60 historically Black colleges and universities.
